Bible Study Doodles

This design was birthed in my journal, bright and early on a random Bible-studying morning. I start each day that way, in fact—open my Bible in bed, before my feet even hit the floor.
Everyone has different preferences for their Bible reading time, but for me, its best to get it done as soon as I wake up. And it’s not the way it sounds…
Not get it done like it’s a dreaded chore akin to cleaning toilets.
No. Get it done like it’s the first cool, crisp sip of water after an entire night’s thirst.
If I don’t start my day with God… how can I continue my day with Him?
This quiet time with the Lord is one of my most cherished routines, but not everyone is an early-bird like me. And that’s good. If our world was only comprised of too-tired-to-go-out-after-7-pm introverts, it’d be a very boring place.
Some people have their devotional time in the evening. Or after they get their kids on the bus. Or during lunch break in the office.
The most important part is to actually devote daily time to cultivating your relationship with Him, because really, how can you grow closer to Christ… if you never spend time with Him?
But I digress.
And I’ll be honest, I don’t know where I’m going with this post. Its almost 8 PM (dangerously close to surpassing my bed time) and I’m a bit sleepy.
However, I guess the bottom line is this:
This sticker came from a doodle. Which came from journaling to God. Which came from studying the Bible. Which came from a conscious decision to wake up early in order to prioritize the Lord.
Intentionality goes a long way. So does persistence.
Whether you read a sentence or a section or a chapter, just open the Bible, friends. Make time for Him. Ask Him to speak through His holy Word.
Let Him in; you’ll be amazed at how His Word comes alive in your heart (Heb 4:12).
