Savior in the Storms

This one is close to my heart. And maybe a bit harder to explain, compared to some of my other works.
Basically, this is supposed to be Jesus - complete with His crown of thorns and bloodied face - in the midst of a fierce storm. He is calm, though, in spite of the chaos around Him, and in a season of immense upheaval, His soothing Presence can make all the difference.
At the end of Mark 4, we read about Jesus doing exactly this - soothing stormy seas - but sometimes, there are storms that we have to go through. In fact, for our own growth and maturation, we need to be challenged from time to time (James 1:2-4).
But the amazing this is, just as He's with the disciples in their storms, He's with us in our trials too.
Guys, I know I've mentioned this in past blogs, but I've had a lot of changes occur in this last year. From medication swaps and job shifts, to a pet and boyfriend, 2025 has been quite a time of great uncertainty - and therefore stress - for me.
However, I've gotten closer to Him...
The One Who's so capable, He sleeps during hurricanes and tells us to rest too.
The Wave Walker Who has overcome the world.
The Sacrificial Savior Who understands my pains because He's felt them too.
The Friend Who never leaves, no matter how hard things get.
I pray that He's as comforting to you as He is to me, because while I may not know what trials you're facing, He certainly does. And boy oh boy, does Christ care greatly for you; His cross proves it, His invitation into resurrected life proclaims it.
So don't stop seeking Him, okay? Look between the waves, the clouds, and rain. The Savior's there with you, in your midst as you suffer and struggle and persevere.
What's more, Jesus is holding you up - just like He does with Peter - so that you can stand atop the waves that wish to smother you (Matt 14:22-33). So you can stand with Him, always and forever.
And somehow, someday, you can trust that the storms will clear...
The clouds will unveil a rainbow declaring His love...
And He will be there - still- right by your side.
